Jiangxi Yangli took serious measures on safety management and strengthened its safety defensive line
The rainy season in 2021 spring is earlier than previous years. Project construction in Yangli is in its full swing as usual. According to the project timeline, multiple projects are being constructed in order. Meanwhile, construction teams also extend to more than 10 teams including equipment installment, anticorrosion, fire protection, sewage disposal and landscape planning etc. On-site staffs reach to 300 people at most, which resulted in unavoidable cross-construction. There is increasing difficulty in safety management. Faced with this formidable safety task, project department in Yangli Therefore, Jiangxi operated strictly “Contractor Six-Step Approach” to enhanced on-site management and corrected unsafe operations to ensure that the project construction is progressing in order.
On April 1st, General Manager Qing Hu arranged a meeting with all construction safety responsible staff from contractors, supervisory unit, safety unit, equipment unit and electronic device unit. At the beginning, HSE Director Xiaowei Chen reported current safety management situation on the construction site by means of photos and texts, specifically pointed out potential risks. He also emphasized safety issues and regulatory requirements that need to be paid attention by contractors in operations. Qing Hu and Production Line Deputy Manager Xinghua Liu provided supplementary suggestions on on-site construction safety management and emphasized the fact that communication among contractors must be enhanced. During the meeting, responsible staff from contractors brought their ideas up and promised to strictly implement safety practices and regulate on-site construction operations, to make sure safety issues can be avoided and potential safety risks are eliminated immediately.
After the meeting, General Manager Qing Hu led his team in person to conduct safety inspection before the Qingming Festival, mainly for the purpose of finding out new issues and looking back previous issues. They further troubleshot potential risks thorough inspection into foundation pit protection, hoisting operation, temporary electricity supplying equipment, integrity of tools and equipment, aloft work implementation and high-danger operation crew guardianship. They required contractors to conduct improvement to potential safety risks and also urged contractors to do self-inspection to secure safe construction work.
Safety management should be monitored in the long term. Yangli project team is making efforts to conduct safety management step by step This meeting and routine inspection before the holiday further strengthened daily inspection efforts made by those professional staff. Long-term efforts are being made to eliminating safety risks and improving risk management, to secure smooth project construction.
